What's actually causing it
Ignition and safety components
Igniter, flame sensor, pressure switch, and wiring get checked before a −30 night is the thing that finds the failure for you.
Airflow and combustion
Filter, blower, venting, and the condensate line get inspected and cleared — the same parts that cause most winter no-heat calls when they're neglected.
AC-specific checks in spring
Coil condition, refrigerant charge, and the capacitor and contactor get checked ahead of the season, not discovered mid-heatwave.

What's actually checked in the 21-point inspection?
Ignition and safety components, airflow and combustion, the condensate line, thermostat operation, and — on the spring visit — the AC coil, refrigerant charge, and electrical components. It's a real inspection, not a filter swap with a sticker on it.
Does a maintenance plan actually get me faster service in a cold snap?
Yes — plan members get priority dispatch on no-heat calls, which is the difference that matters most on the night everyone in the neighbourhood is calling at once.
Can I join partway through the year, or do I have to wait for fall?
You can join any time. We book whichever seasonal visit is next due and set the yearly schedule from there.
